We are located 15 to 20 miles from west branch, houghton lake and higgins lake. Lake Saint Helen is only 1/8th of a mile from the cottage an all sports lake with excellent fishing. We are about 1 mile from the orv trailhead. The town of st. Helen allows orv's on local roads as long as you have a sticker which can be purchased right in town. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We don't mind if renters need extra room they may bring a tent. With permission. We do have wi-fi but no cable. The 2 public beaches are very nice, cove dr. Offers grills and basketball and volleyball. The kayak launch is at the public boat launch right next to the boat launch all are within walking distance from the cabin. St. Helen and the surrounding areas have lots to offer including canoe trips in roscommon, you can also rent a pontoon on lake st. Helen at the marina. And if you like the trails St. Helen powersports and razr ripn rentals both offer sxs rentals for the day or weekends. There are tons of great thrift stores in houghton, roscommon and west branch. We do have a fire pit and a grill on the property if you would like to have a cook out or enjoy the beautiful night sky. We have awesome night skys due to higher elevation which is perfect for star gazing. This is a cozy little cabin perfect for a couple looking to unplug and enjoy nature. Also we are 12 miles South from Roscommon known for great tubing and canoeing on the awesome Au Sable River. The nightmare and dreamer golf course are within 5 miles on M-55 and their is also a golf course on F-97 by the third lake. So enjoy your time. This is a very clean cabin that has all new flooring and the bathroom is new. Kitchen is large and use of washer and dryer as well as a clothes line is available. Sleeps 6 people very comfortably with a full size bed, and a trumble bed with a mattress that lifts up for full size as well. Couch is a pull out bed that will sleep 3 easily if needed. The garage will park your car as well. Plenty of space in the closet for your needs as well as a hand made by me quilt on the bed with a ceiling fan and light and reading light as well. Very clean large grill for your use as well as a supply of forks for your s’mores and hobble pie makings. I also have great hand made corn hole boards and bags for your enjoyment in the large back yard. This is also a place where i love to hang out and so I keep my things out of others way when they come up and do a deep thru cleaning and fresh bedding as well. I recently lost the love of my life that I shared this cabin with and the trails and the lake This renting to you to enjoy as much as we did give’s me the chance for you to experience what we enjoyed together very much. Lots of hiking, snow shoeing and cross country skiing within 30 minutes. ORV trails are at the end of the street. St Helen offers a county and State beach that is 1.5 miles away. They also have a boat launch and kayak launch. Great place to relax by the fire.

We are literally a few feet from the trailhead and you can use private trail in backyard and your right there!! It is a murky bottom. Be sure to walk along the edge of the canal (6 ft. easement). You will need to walk down to the access (which is 20ft. off the lot--right across dirt road), as opposed to walking through people's yards. Drinking Water: It is well water. It is hard water. Some guests may choose to bring bottled water for drinking. Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: Freshwater does not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city. Fireplace: There is a fireplace-wood burning. Fire-pit: There is a firepit for guests. Fishing: Some common fish you will see in the nearby lake are walleye, pike, bluegill and it has an abundant source of small mouth bass (avg. 3lbs and up) . Please be sure to bring your own poles as there are none at this property. Also, in order to fish in Michigan lakes, one is required to hold a fishing license. Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $50/per pet for your entire stay. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we'll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed. Privacy: You will see neighbors. Seniors: Come one, come all! This space is great for those over 60. Sometimes when renting a home, you are never too sure about the terrain: is the home on top of a hill, is parking on a steep slope, are there 100 steps to the beach or the unit, etc. This home gets the FVR approval for the young at heart! Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground. High ceilings and 14 windows provide a lot of light and a sense of openness. There is also a dining area, TV section (DVD player, no cable), couch, tables and chairs, and 5 twin beds. It is a beautiful all sports lake. About a mile away is a public park with tennis courts, softball diamond, covered picnic area, barbecue grills and a basketball court also swings and slides. The Home Our lakefront home features 2 bedrooms, and 1 ½ baths. One bedroom features a queen bed, and the other features a full size bed. This sleeps 4 comfortably, and we are limiting the house rental to 4 people. The house has a large great room that overlooks the lake, with 4 big full patio doors/windows, so the lake view from the home is exceptional. The kitchen is large, with all the conveniences of home! The large deck, complete with table and chairs, and grill, overlooks the lake. This house is handicap friendly. There are no stairs getting into the home. The Lake Twin Lake is an approximately 650 acre all-sports lake with no public access, and only has about 25 homes on the lake. A large part of the lake is State land frontage and we are directly across from this – so you see no homes when you look straight across the lake, from our home. It is a very private lake! Items on our property We have an aluminum fishing boat, 2 kayaks and a canoe. It is a great fishing lake, and the perfect size lake for kayaking. There is a bonfire pit right by the water - perfect for late night gatherings! Get a game of volleyball going, relax in the hammock, or just sit in the beach chairs and read. We have a 2 car garage that you can store your gear in. Other things to do You will find that you won’t want to leave this great lakefront home, but if you do – there are lots of restaurants, shopping, and other fun attractions all within 20 minutes away. There is great golf nearby, and we are situated right by St. Helen's ORV trails (hundreds of miles of groomed trails which provide ample riding area for the Off Road Vehicle or snowmobile enthusiasts!) There is also a small dining table next to the kitchen. The cabin even has a little office area with a nice desk. The cabin is available for rent year-round as it is fully-heated with a propane forced-air furnace and also cooled in the summer via central air conditioning! The cabin is approx. 2700 square feet in size and, with the 3 bathrooms, this vacation home accommodates up to 14 adults very comfortably! ?This vacation property also includes a LUXURIOUS INDOOR HOT TUB / SPA, a huge wrap-around backyard deck, a large backyard (on the lake), a bonfire ring, a gas grill, a washer and dryer, WiFi, a large flat-screen television with live streaming via a Roku device, and gorgeous wood-themed decorating throughout the cabin! The cabin is just a 20-minute drive from Houghton Lake (the largest inland lake in Michigan) and a 15-minute drive from the cute little town of Saint Helen. It is close to numerous hiking, walking, and snowmobiling trails. The location serves as an excellent base for exploring all that northern Michigan has to offer!?(Note that there are actually two West Twin Lakes in Michigan. This vacation property is located on the southern of the two West Twin Lakes. The cabin is in Roscommon County just southeast of Houghton Lake.) Please note that this vacation cabin is located on a very rural and unpaved road. The road does get plowed throughout the winter, but the last one-half of a mile to get to the cabin can be a little rough and we suggest travelling in a vehicle with snow tires and/or 4wd in the winter if guests have access to one. (We suggest this, but it is not required.) HOUSE RULES: All guests are required to abide by the following rules: Pets: This is a pet-friendly vacation rental property and up to 2 dogs are allowed for each stay. There is a $100 pet fee to help us cover the additional cleaning cost associated with pets. (Note that more than 2 dogs are not permitted and pets other than dogs are also not permitted.) Check-in / Check-out Times: To allow us to have the home properly cleaned and prepared for incoming guests, we ask that guests check-out by 11:00 AM and that new guests arrive after 4:00 PM. Check-out prior to 11:00 AM is particularly important as our cleaning personnel normally start cleaning the house promptly at 11:00 AM upon the day of check-out. Quiet Hours: For the sake of the neighbors, it is expected that guests will keep noise to a minimum outside of the house after 11:00 PM until at least 8:00 AM. Minimum Stay: During the summer months, we rent the cottage on a weekly basis. On holiday weekends, there is a 3-night minimum stay requirement. Except for rare calendar exceptions, at all other times of the year there is a 2-night minimum stay requirement. Cleaning Fee: There is a $225 cleaning fee per stay for each reservation. Damage Deposits: We require a $500 damage deposit for all reservations. This deposit is fully-refundable and will be promptly returned to the guest if there is no damage to the property. Towels / Linens: We provide bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths for all guests as well as sheets for the beds, so guests do not need to bring their own. We do not provide beach towels though, so it is suggested that guests bring their own beach towels. Kitchen Supplies: We provide a good supply of cooking and dining utensils for guests to use. This includes a coffee maker, toaster, and salt and pepper. Guests are asked to wash any dishes that they use prior to their departure. Garage: The garage is used for personal storage and is not available for guests to use. Indoor Fireplace: The indoor wood fireplace is available for guests to use. Firewood: A fun and family-friendly fire ring with chairs is provided in the backyard for having bonfires and s'mores. The indoor fireplace is also available for guest use. We do not provide firewood, but firewood is readily available for purchase at grocery stores and gas stations in the area. ORVs / ATVs: ORVs (off-road vehicles) and/or ATVs (all-terrain vehicles) are not permitted on the property at all! If you are coming to the area to ride ORVs / ATVs, please rent a different property! Boats and Watercraft: West Twin Lake is a private lake and there is no public boat launch. Guests are welcome to bring their own boats or other watercraft, but they must be launched from either the property itself or from the small section of state-owned land to the west of the property. Kids Playhouse: As shown in some of the photos, there is two-story kids playhouse in the backyard of the property. Guests are welcome to use the playhouse at their own risk! Wi-Fi: The property has satellite Wi-Fi and guests are welcome to use it. Television Streaming Services: The television at the property is equipped with FireTV entertainment which includes Netflix, HBO, Showtime, and Prime.

A perfect getaway for family and friends! Enjoy a quiet vacation on East Twin Lake in a cabin with everything you will need to relax and have fun. The cabin has 265 feet of shoreline with a sandy beach and dock. Swimming by the dock is great with a sandy bottom. Take a canoe or kayak out to the island or on a cruise around the lake. Some life jackets are provided. The kids (and some adults) will also enjoy hanging out in the tree house and swinging. Enjoy a campfire on the beach each night while watching the sunset. In the winter, there are two fireplaces in the cabin that will keep you warm. Across the lake is state forest with plenty of trails for your 4-wheelers and dirt bikes. In the winter, the snow mobile trails are easily accessible as well. Trails will take you to St. Helen and all of the trails available in the area. Fishing on the lake is fantastic. There are endless Bluegill and the occasional Bass and Pike that can be caught right off the dock all summer long. St. Helen, West Branch and Prudenville/Houghton Lake are all within about a 20 minute drive. Each town has restaurants and access to groceries and supplies. The cabin will easily sleep 8-10 people. Three bedrooms have queen size beds and the fourth bedroom has bunk beds and a single. There is also a bed on the porch and a futon in the sunroom. There is one full bath and the second bathroom has a toilet and sink. At the bottom of the steps coming into the cabin is an outdoor foot wash. All linens and bath towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels. The kitchen is fully equipped including a coffee maker, toaster and blender. There is also a grill on the deck making it easy to cook out. Please note, there is no dishwasher. A washer and dryer is available. Please bring your own laundry soap. There are plenty of games to play along with a huge Jenga set. There is one TV with a DVD/Blueray player. You will be off-the-grid a little bit with limited cell phone service. But you will survive, as you can get a good signal from the middle of the lake or top of the hill. The lake is typically quiet with the occasional jet ski or fishing boat going by.
